Pass the Protein Please

I'm getting started this morning on the "new" diet for the next 7 days.  I had my 2 eggs and 2 cups of coffee and I'm packing up my lunch that I cooked last night.  I baked a big pan of chicken that should last me about 3 days, then will need to cook another big batch to get through the next 4 days.  Oranges and protein shakes will also be involved.  Does anyone else drink protein shakes?  I don't think I ever have, so don't know which brand tastes the best.  If you've got any tips, let me know.  I need to pick some up at the store today.

We went to the OysterFest yesterday and had a great time.  And as usual, I forgot to take the camera, lol.  The temps were around 52 degrees and the sun was shining bright, so with jeans and a light sweater on, the weather felt perfect.  We were planning on eating at The Steamhouse restaurant in the middle of the party (they blocked off some streets around the restaurant), but getting a table was impossible.  We eventually left and went to the Marietta Fish Market to eat because we were all geared up for seafood.  I got the the senior citizen/lighter appetite menu.  Shrimp and scallops with a baked sweet potato.  I didn't finish it all, and it left me wondering how I ever swallowed down all of those big ass fried seafood platters of the past.  No wonder I got up to 340 lbs.  Totally out of control....but not anymore. :)

Feeling good on this Monday morning.  If you know of a good protein shake to buy, let me know!  :)

  1. I know what you mean - yesterday I went to lunch with my SIL - I ate only 2/3 of my 13 point lunch and she was like "aren't you going to finish it?" But I was full - but I know I've eaten well past the point of full, which is why I was 211 pounds at my heaviest!

I don't do protein shakes - I know Special K has one out though that a co-worker likes!

  2. Hi Tammy. I was just searching the web for other weight loss blogs and found yours. THANK YOU for being willing to share publically. People like you are so inspiring to me as I have just begun my own weight loss blog to lose 100 pounds. Good luck!

  3. Tammy my favorite is the chocolate from optimum nutrition, gold standard. It's pretty pricey though so I buy it in the 5 lb container online. The walmart brand "pure protein" I think it is tastes ok but it's a bit gritty at the bottom. I stick with the whey ones since the soy ones taste yucky to me.
